White tea is tea made from new growth buds and young leaves of the plant Camellia sinensis. It has a delicate flavor and is naturally low in caffeine. After white tea leaves are harvested, the leaves are withered and then dried immediately after harvest using natural sunlight, heat vents, or drying chambers. This helps prevents oxidization, giving the tea a light flavor and color and preserving some of the prized benefits of tea, such as antioxidants.
